I quickly learned after a few casseroles and a batch of cupcakes that our oven is a little off. It cooks pretty evenly, but just a little faster than most ovens. If the recipe calls for 25 minutes, it’s safe to say it’ll be done around 16. I’m constantly adjusting times and forgetting to check to make sure I haven’t burned something. I’ll learn eventually, but for now I’ll just hover over the stove and always set a timer!
This morning, I’m happy to announce, was a success. Blueberry muffins. Check. And they looked quite perfect if I can be so boastful in my mix-it-and-put-it-in-the-oven-skills.
I must also share the newest addition to our kitchen–flowers. Yes, they’re from a kit, but I’m so excited about them! They’re growing really fast and I can’t wait to see them finally bloom. It’s a purple flower called Bachelor’s Button. I’ll save the actual bloom for another post, but for now, here are my little plants…
